Campaign Overview

The Annual Dinner is Covington Business Council’s signature event, bringing together regional business leaders, members, and community partners for networking, recognition, and celebration.

As Event Lead, I managed the full scope of the event — from conceptualizing the marketing campaign and designing collateral to coordinating logistics before, during, and after the dinner. The goal was to maximize attendance, generate positive press coverage, and strengthen the Council’s brand within the business community.

The Challenge

  • Limited budget and time for marketing and design production.
  • Need to engage a professional business audience while maintaining a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere.
  • Coordinating logistics for a multi-layered event, including registration, venue setup, and press coverage.
  • Ensuring consistent branding across all communications and touchpoints.

Strategy & Execution

To address these challenges, I implemented a comprehensive, end-to-end strategy:

  • Marketing & Promotion:
  • Designed all event graphics, including invitations, social media posts, and digital banners.
  • Managed the social media campaign across LinkedIn and Facebook to increase awareness and drive registrations.
  • Crafted messaging that emphasized networking, recognition, and community impact.
  • Print & Media Outreach:
  • Coordinated with local media outlets (LinkNKY and NKY Tribune) to secure coverage before and after the event.
  • Developed press materials including event highlights and photography opportunities.
  • Event Logistics:
  • Oversaw all aspects of event planning, including venue coordination, catering, registration, seating, and on-site signage.
  • Managed a small team of volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations during the dinner.
  • Design & Branding:
  • Created a cohesive visual identity for the event that aligned with CBC’s brand guidelines.
  • Applied consistent typography, color schemes, and imagery across digital and print materials.

Impact & Results

  • Successfully increased awareness and attendance for the Annual Dinner compared to previous years.
  • Event received positive coverage in LinkNKY and NKY Tribune, enhancing CBC’s regional visibility.
  • Attendees praised the professional design, smooth logistics, and overall experience.
  • All marketing collateral and event branding reinforced CBC’s professional, cohesive identity.
